Overview

Mekna Nasi Kerabu stands as a vibrant gem in the heart of Seri Kembangan, offering a genuine taste of Malaysian heritage through its iconic nasi kerabu. Nestled within a modest kiosk on Jalan KP 1/1, this eatery captures the essence of traditional flavors while catering to a diverse crowd eager to experience authentic local cuisine.

At the core of Mekna's appeal is its signature nasi kerabu, a visually striking dish featuring fragrant blue-hued rice paired with a medley of fresh ulam, aromatic sambal kelapa, and a carefully balanced blend of condiments like budu tumis. The flavorful accompaniments, such as the crispy fried fish or the spiced ikan keli in paprik or rempah styles, elevate each bite, offering texture and richness that resonate with the palate accustomed to Malaysian culinary nuances.

Beyond nasi kerabu, the menu extends to a satisfying variety of nasi berlauk options, highlighting ikan keli prepared in different traditional Malaysian styles such as sambal and percik. These dishes are thoughtfully curated to ensure that each serving maintains the integrity of long-loved recipes, making Mekna a go-to spot for both locals and visitors craving a comforting meal rooted in heritage.

The kiosk’s simplicity mirrors the unpretentious warmth of Malaysian street food culture. While the space may be compact, it invites a lively atmosphere where the aromas of sambal and grilled fish mingle with the chatter of patrons. Mekna mainly targets those who appreciate authentic, affordable Malaysian food—be it working professionals grabbing a quick lunch or families seeking a casual dining experience infused with local character.

To wash down the robust flavors, Mekna offers an array of refreshing traditional drinks. From the cooling jagung ais and the robust kopi o ais to fruity options like Extra Joss in mango or grape, the beverages complement the food perfectly, rounding off the meal with balance and refreshment.

In summary, Mekna Nasi Kerabu delivers a compelling culinary journey steeped in Malaysian tradition. Its focus on quality ingredients, flavor authenticity, and genuine street food experience makes it a noteworthy stop in Seri Kembangan for anyone eager to savor nasi kerabu and its accompanying delicacies in an accessible, inviting setting.

This malay stall sells very authentic kelantanese nasi kerabu. If you love East Peninsular cooking, you must try this. Absolutely delicious!! Most dishes sold here are very tasty and authentic. Prices here is reasonable and portions are big too. Most customers here buy to takeaway. They have very limited tables. They only cater for the lunch crowd. I personally like their rendang chicken and rendang beef. Another specialty dish they sell is white gravy percik chicken. Thats finger licking good!! They also sell ubi santan pudding. Its not too sweet so it suits me fine. Something unique. Since we are still in the middle of Covid19, I've decided to take-away. Been waiting for a long time to eat this again. Today I was late, no more blue butterfly pea rice. Just normal rice. But it will do, their fresh spice toppings and sambal is really good. And I had my favourite ayam percik too. Prices remain the same. Generous with their portions.

Nasi kerabu was good. Nasi dagang with curry beef was tasty. Beef was tender. No regrets. Price reasonable. It's a road side stall so NO dine in. Wished they cover the food.
